This is the story of our farm, a 100-year-old dairy and cattle operation anchored by a Gothic arc barn, once ordered from a Sears and Roebuck catalog for just $1400. Likely delivered by the old railroad, this barn, with its elegant curves and enduring structure, has weathered time and change.

In 2018, just before the world slowed under the weight of a pandemic, owners Dave and Nancy Emmons felt an undeniable pull toward this land. They longed for something more—a return to nature, a deeper connection with each other, and a commitment to living sustainably. With this farm,  the Emmons found not just a place to live but a canvas for restoration: of soil, spirit, and community.

Over the past few years, their journey has unfolded in profound and humbling ways. From restoring the iconic barn to nurturing the depleted soil, they’ve embraced practices that honor the land’s history while preparing it for a thriving future. Through composting, building ponds, planting perennial trees and bushes, and adding solar power, the Restoration Acres owners are committed to creating a sustainable haven where healing—for the earth and ourselves—can flourish.
